\ ˈfast iŋ \

WELL-Defined

Fasting is the abstinence of all or some food or drinks for a set amount of time and has been used for centuries in religious and cultural practices. Different styles of fasting have been linked to reduced blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure, improved brain function, and increased metabolism.

The Fine Print

Intermittent fasting has increased in popularity over the last few years as a health and weight-loss tool—and there are a few different ways to conduct it. The 16/8 method is the most common and involves limiting your daily eating to a period of eight hours (for example, 12PM - 8PM) and fasting for the other 16 hours. Always consult your doctor before starting any new diet plan.

Where We Come In

If you’re going to fast with the goal of improving overall health, your health coach can help you go about it in a smart (and safe) way. Fasting for short periods of time can improve mood and energy, aid in weight loss and boost metabolism.
